Wow! It's been quite some time since I've posted. I've been busy re-learning 5th grade math:) If you had told me 17 years ago when I started teaching that I would end my career teaching math, I would have laughed...I am a bona fide Language Arts type. However, here I am...teaching fifth grade math... Never say never! Our superb 5th grade math teacher was put on bed rest by her doctor until her baby is born, so I am attempting to fill her shoes.
Please keep Amber (the math teacher) and her dear baby in your prayers.
It's actually been a great experience. I already know the kids because I had them in PE, so it's been really awesome to get to know them on a different level. I've also been able to prove to myself that I'm not quite as math-phobic as I thought.
Anyway, in the midst of it all, I finally purchased Foldforming by Charles Lewton-Brain along with some new hammers. I can't wait to try some new techniques, but it will probably be awhile...must focus on Math for now! In the meantime, I'd like to share a photo of some basic foldforming I did last year.
This is a copper cuff with line formfolds and a heat applied patina.
Cheers for now,
LaLa
